Prom Rants
phishfood1301:
I went to prom. It sucked for two main reasons. I was new at the school and it turns out there was a "theme". Las Vegas. It was poker and blackjack in the coners of the gym, (yes it was held in a gym) and dancing in the front of the gym. I ended up dancing with some girl's boyfriend she got mad and umm.... yeah. Prom sucked.

Aw, heartless, poor you! There's always birthdays - you can make all your guests where fancy dress!
Ok, that's annoying! I go to a girls school so you can imagine the drama involved, and I can relate to you. I am definitely going this year since it's my last year at high school. And the style is for everyone to get a fake tan and look completely orange, despite it being Winter in June (when the ball is) which is stupid! Who wants to look like an oompa loompa I ask you?
Also, is it so bad to go without a date? I don't have a boyfriend, and I don't want to go with some random. Being in a girls school presents these kind of problems! ;)
you don't have to have a boyfriend or some random guy date in order to go to prom. if all else fails, see if you can gather a group of single friends and go, that way you can still enjoy prom and not feel guilty about going alone! ;) and besides, most of my senior band friends always go together on in groups on prom night and they still have fun, with or without dates! prom advice from a guy? wow, i've seen too waaaay many eighties teen movies....

I've been to a few proms. I am embarrassed to admit that I had been looking at dresses since I was 13 yet it still took about 6 months to ultimately find one. You should definitely get out early looking for dresses though especially if you are really tiny. The alterations took two weeks for mine.
As for the pre-prom, a similar situation happened last year. I had just gotten over a huge fight with one of my best friends unfortunately the other three were still not speaking to me. I ended up just having my family over and taking pictures with them and my boyfriend because it was just way too hectic to go to my friends house. It was much more special for me I think. :)
Oh man, the same thing happened with my transportation. I so wanted a limo and my friends were all planning to put money together and get one. Ugh, they never got their act together and by the time they let me know, it was too late and all my other friends had filled up their limo. I was heartbroken and I regret it. My boyfriend ended up driving though and it was okay in the end. Haha, I got to handle the music!
