Help plz

im not sure if i this is where i would post this but i was on simply stylin and i cam across this see by the lamp and the green table they have like a loft but its shorter than going to the second floor i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do that or point me in the direction of a tutorial on how to get that? or maybe im just being stupid and it is going to the second floor.sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I wonder how they did that too but I THINK they just did a split level foundation inside the room perhaps 2? and put up a half-wall infront of it I could be wrong though lol and then just made the stairs go up to the loft?

It's a split-level foundation with stairs leading up to it.  The wall is actually a fence.
