I was playing the game just fine yesterday and now suddenly today it will not load. I've tried deleting my downloads folder, deleting the cigen file, the cache files, and bypassing the launcher, but nothing seems to work. Bodyshop will no longer work as well.

Thoughts? Help!

You just pulled your downloads folder to another location, right? You didn't actually delete them...

Okay, people always freak me out stating they have deleted their downloads folder. Just double checking.

This is a tricky one, only because I have never had this problem before - the culprit NOT being my downloads folder, at least. If all else fails, I would suggest backing up all material and re-installing. But please get some other great Sim minds here to give you other advice first.

Sorry I couldn't help you more, but this is a head scratcher for me as well. I hope someone can help you with this soon.

Thanks for helping anyway. I really don't want to re-install considering the last three episodes installed were...how do I put this...well not bought from the store. Smiley

The other folder it may be worth clearing out is the projects one. I remember when Yagami had a similar issue and tried all the usual things you already have he emptied out that folder and it worked.  By the projects folder I mean the one located C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Projects

Since you admitted to acquiring your games illegally, the main issue could be SecuROM so you might want to check that out... Sad
