Why won`t my sims eat ?

Every time I get any sim to prepare a meal or have a meal, they cook it and then put it straight in the fridge, even when they are very hungry, unless I direct them to eat it straight away. The only way they eat straight away is if they are directed to have a quick meal. Are they all anorexic?

My Sims will prepare group meals and put them on the counter. I had to direct them to take a plate and head off to eat. That's just like Sims 2 when the Sim prepares a group meal and set it on the counter.

I don't know if there is a mod to enforce the Sims to take a plate and go eat after they finish preparing the meals. I didn't check around to see if there is one or not.
