Mesh Problem?

scarletlady:
Alright, this keeps happening and it's not only ruining custom hair and clothes in my game, but default ones too, as well as the thought bubbles and ltos - I think it's a mesh problem but I know nothing about it so i'm not sure.

Anyway, this keeps happening randomly in my game:

^ His was the same too.

^ You can also see in the list of people the fourth one in whose face is white, and I just gave her a make over.

Sometimes these clothes/hair/items/lots are fine, and then this happens

Anyway, please help as i'm pretty sure it's crashing my game too, but randomly :\ And a couple of times my computer has crashed during the Sims and then says 'Overheated', but that could be nothing to do with it *shrug*.

I've ran the HCDU and there are no current hack conflicts. Thank you!

Have you tried running your game without custom content? If all is well without your Downloads folder, then you know it's something in your Downloads, at which point using the 50/50 method is the best way to track it down.

ancienthighway:
It would be worth verifying your mods are the proper ones for your game, too.

amc462000:
I am going to bet it is a default hack or hacks of some kind; how long has it been happening & can you yank out CC from that date to see if it stops?

rwills:
Also clean your computer of dust, and verify that the fan is working.

Would also suggest a possibly corrupted video card or graphics chipset driver, and to re-install or fresh install an update of the driver for whatever your video card or graphics chipset may be.

May be a failing video card as well (overheating will degrade a video card real fast and eventually fry it).

Also, see here (though your multiplicity of symptoms strongly suggests a hardware problem more than a game file problem):

It is also possible that you just have more EPs/SPs than your particular computer set-up can comfortably or adequately handle.  The chart here:

might provide some helpful info.
