Spending time with my son, who got to go back to school after getting sidelined with the flu for a solid week. He was one happy camper when he was finally (in his parlance, FINELY) allowed to get on the bus this morning and go. He spent the first three days sacked out asleep most of the time, poor kid.

Just put the pepsi cake in the oven.

I'm finishing the sunflower (yay!), almost done the rose (yay!), but I'm so tired and, believe it or not, I do believe I've strained a shoulder muscle thanks to all the bead work I've been doing this week, so I think I'm going to pick a violent game and spend the evening killing things.

Yeah, it is basically a fizzy chocolate cake. You make a chocolate cake, but you have to add buttermilk and pepsi (or any other cola soda).
It is great~

It came out of the oven looking great, so we're going to put it in the fridge over night, and ice it in the morning.

Woo hoooooo! I am finished both the sunflower and the rose! Now, I just have one more gift to finish (a drawing of one of my best friend's dogs, who passed away a few months ago) and I am READY for Yule/Christmas.

So, in light of this, I am celebrating my little victory.

Downloading too much stuff and deciding on wrapping the rest of the presents.

Theraven you knit?  I am going to have to pm you because I crochet anyway.  I am debating on whether to just fit back the hunger pains or make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and a candy bar, or drink eggnog and of course downloading stuff I don't need for my game.

I knit, crochet, sew, bead, embroider, needlework, cross stitch, draw, write, sing, sculpt and...well, lots of things. LOL.

I'm sitting at the kitchen table with my mom, sister and brother in law, enjoying a nice, happy night and sipping at a Winter ale. It's lovely. The last Christmas my younger sister was home for was my father's last Christmas almost 11 years ago.

I knit, yes. And I can do some simple crocheting (I mostly use it for making linings around knitwork). I used to love handwork when I was younger (sewng objects with tiny pearls, knitting, cross stitching, painting, drawing, and many more), but I've got so many hobbies now that I barely get the time to do any.

I used to do all sorts of crafting/handwork but those days are long gone, because I don't have the time or the ability any longer (long story). Just got the turkey in the roaster so it should be done in a few hours. Kiddo is playing with his gifts and I'm doing my best to ignore the fact that forty years ago this was the last holiday I'd ever spend with both of my parents. Missing people I'll never see again but doing my best to remember that this is my granddaughter's first Christmas then again, I've never even gotten to see her in person yet let alone hold her, so yeah.  It's a toss-up of how I feel today, y'know???
