I've been playing the Sims 2 for years, and I'm having a problem that's never happened before.

Even though I have free will on in game options, my Sims won't do a thing for themselves! I've tried switching between free will on and off, resetting game options, reloading the house--nothing works.

Has this ever happened to anyone else before? And if so, how did you fix it? I'd really like for my Sims to start going to the bathroom on their own again...

Yes, it's happened to me-it was something in my download folder, can't remember what now but probably something that wasn't compatible with my game configuration or conflicting hacks.  I don't know if your problem is lot specific but if it is then maybe it's a custom object on the lot-a stereo gave me that problem before.  Maybe try deleting objects from the lot or rebuilding with the same objects and see how you go.  Then again it could be anything in your download folder if it's a widespread problem.  Run the Hack Conflict Detection Utility from Paladin's Place/Sims Wardrobe to see what hacks you have and what they conflict with.  Conflicts are not always bad, sometimes they are meant to be that way, but it is a good starting place.  Also, you could try getting an error report and someone here maybe able to untangle it for you (posted as an attachment, not in the postitself) if it's not obvious what the problem is.  Sorry I'm not very technical, that's all I can say I think.

I didn't know there was a program to detect conflicting hacks, so thanks for the heads up!

I'll give it a go, thanks again!  Grin

If that doesn't work try to find the most recent hacks you downloaded and try removing them one by one. That usually works for me.
