Propose to be a Roommate

This may be a glitch on my part, but I can only have townies become roommates. Could someone please make a mod that allows you to ask sims you've created to become roommates?

Actually only social class members, as opposed to townies, can be roomies via looking for a roommate.  Playable sims have to move in, and can be asked to move in.  Something about a playable sim in a non-playable role.
