Olivia turned out to only have a sprained ankle. It was music to my ears. I hugged her when she came out with only an ace bandage on. Much better than staying in there, with monitors and oxygen tubes.
“Uh, Hailey, can you stop squishing me?” She said, pushing me away gently.
“Oh, oops. Sorry.” I said, laughing just a bit.
“Momma, I wanna go to the beach!” Taylor said, tugging on my skirt.
“Hey, why don’t we all go?” Olivia suggested, ruffling Taylor’s hair.
“Olivia, I don’t think that’s a good idea. We need to call your cheer coach and tell her you’ll be out for a few weeks.” My mom said, looking warily at Olivia and I.
“Come on, Grandma! I want Auntie Olivia to go to the beach with me! Pleeeeeeease?” He said, pouting.
“Oh, Taylor, how can I never say no to you?” she sighed. “Oh, alright. Olivia, if Hailey will give you a ride, you can go.”
“Hey wait, can I go too?” Peter said, butting in.
“Sure.” I said, only to be cut off by Olivia’s
“SHOTGUN!!” she said as she headed for the door.
“Awwh man!” Peter said, moping.
We went to the beach, it was lovely like always.
