So I recently loaded the Mansion Stuff pack, did my reboots to allow custom content to show and things were honkey dory.  Noticed it was running a little slow so I deleted the .cache files from a previous suggestion in the forum.  Done this before and the game loaded with no problems.  This time I did that and the .packages that seem to generate with it, didn't think much of it.  Click on my neighborhood and it loads though when I click on my family it will go to the loading screen and sit there.  The little hourglass icon keeps going and going....  Left it there one time out of curiosity up to 20 minutes and the game won't generate the family.

What do I do?  Uninstall and reinstall everything?  I am so frustrated and I want to play.

Please any help would be fantastic.

Specs: running Windows 7, every expansion except Apartment life and H&M stuff

If you have mods, did you make sure they were updated for AL/Mansion Stuff.

Perhaps try pulling your custom content and see if there's something in Downloads folder preventing households from loading.

Try this it might help.

Go into your The Sims 2 Folder. I access mine by going into my documents>ea games>the sims 2.

There are a few lose files they are labeled
cigen and groups.cache.

Try deleting them.  Restart your game and it should be ready to play.

My game hangs sometimes as well when I introduce new items that mess with the normal loading of the game like hacks and other modded custom content. I would also attempt what Caffeinated.joy suggested to be on the safe side.  Good luck.
