Door that won't close

Have recently found that many of my door stay open after a Sim enters.  Usually close after they leave but not always.  Is there any way to close a door that is left open ???

There's probably a lamp, something on the wall, or an item on the side of the door that makes the door stay open. If you've placed items with Snapobjects they sometimes tend to overlap doors.

Removing the item will let the door close. Either that or replacing the door. Or, if possible, turn the opening of the door so the door opens the other way.
