She was six months pregnant there was no way she could out run him, but some how she had. He got onto the main street but she was no where to be seen. “Morgan!” he shouted again as people looked at him oddly.

He cursed loudly as tears began to fall from his eyes. “Morgan!” he shouted yet again his voice becoming horse from the amount of times he had called out.

Melody stood behind Adam and laughed. He turned to face her; pure hatred flew from his eyes.

“What the hell did you do that for?” He yelled at her through gritted teeth.

“Because I always win. Always.”

He had never hit a woman before, or anyone else for that matter, but before he knew what he was doing he swung his arm out and slapped Melody right across the face. The sheer force that he put into it sent her hurtling to the ground.

“You’re well and truly pathetic.” He spat as Melody began to get back up.

Her face stung, white hot fire spread through her cheek where his hand had stuck her.
“This isn’t over.” She said as Adam turned and fled. His only concern was to get to Morgan.

He reached the flat and his whole body sighed in relief as he saw her keys in the lock of the door.
“Morgan?” he called.

Load sobs came from the bathroom and echoed through the door.
“Morgan?” he called again. “Morgan answer me, I know you’re in there.”
“Leave me alone.”
“Morgan it’s not what you think.”
“Just get out.” She sobbed. “I should never have taken you back.”

Adam knelt down on the floor at the other side of the door. He was not going to walk away, not this time.
“I’m not going anywhere.” He said. “You have it all wrong.”
“How is seeing you kissing her getting it all wrong?” she screamed through the door.

Adam stood up as he heard Morgan do the same in the bathroom.
“Morgan. Come out and talk to me.”
“There’s nothing to talk about. Just get…”

A loud piercing scream sliced through the air.
“Morgan open the door.” He shouted in panic.”
Silence.

Tears of fear scorched his cheeks as he pounded his fist against the wood.
Morgan cried out again as pain tore through her body.
“Morgan!” he yelled at the top of his voice.

Adam backed up until his back was up against the opposite wall. “Baby stand back.” He called as he ran full tilt into the door sending it crashing open.

Morgan was in the corner. Her arms firmly around her stomach. Fear and agony etched into her tear stained features.
“I’m calling an ambulance.” He said as he quickly ran to the phone.
