I laughed,
but at the back of my mind, I was a little scared. He had gotten me in trouble before.
Anyways, months passed, and every so often Julian began getting me in HUGE trouble. By September, I was in trouble every day, because Julian would scream and bawl if I so much as touched him. Mom would yell mercilessly at me, and give me scowls, and disapproving looks constantly.
One fateful day in October, it all fell apart. I had been playing with Julian in the living room,
and when I bent down to tickle him, he screamed bloody murder.
Mom came running in. She yelled at me,this time harsher than ever, then comforted Julian. When he was safely watching Kids Korral, she whipped out her cell phone. "Connect me to Sean Gregory..." She whispered.
A couple of days later, A man that I had never met before stood on our porch.
I watched mom greet him, then lead him upstairs. When they returned, she introduced him to me, as he was mom's friend from Sim State. He seemed quite nice.
We talked for a bit. Then mom whispered to him privately.
All I caught was, "Tonight...", "Midnight...." "Garden...".
Later that night, after mom and dad had put Julian to bed in his crib, Mr. Gregory told them that he'd put me in bed later, as I was watching my favorite TV show. They nodded and walked upstairs to go to sleep. When their light was off for about twenty minutes, Mr. Gregory turned to me. Cupping his hand over my mouth, he dragged me to the door. Then he pushed me outside, following close behind me. Just then I noticed a taxi parked quietly by the garage, hidden in the willow tree so it wouldn't be seen.
He shoved me in.
I stared back at his emotionless face, fear paralyzing my mouth and body.
He got into the taxi, and it pulled away, silent. I rolled down my window quietly, letting the cool, crisp night air keep me from crying. I stared up at the magnificent moon.
"Where are you taking me?" I whispered to the wind.
"You'll see, girl, you'll see..."

mieley:
OH NO! That fellow seems to be a kidnapping menace. I wouldn't be surprised if it was all mommy's idea.
