I finally switched my game over to the PC (thank God for tax returns) and there aren't any conflicts, so I'm still stumped.  I'll keep an eye out to see if it's fixed by being PC side and then you'll probably need a may/may not work on a mac caveat for this hack...

Yep.  And it is a Mac issue.  The hack works perfectly on Windows.
