Problems with Fish and other Seasons actions

Creepies, you should have placed it in the usercheats file, not the userprops file; are you sure you edited the userprops file?

Oh trust me, I'm trying... I've had them stand there for 5-10 sim hours sometimes, it seems, with free-will turned off. Maybe the motives just haven't dropped far enough down yet; I'll try again later tonight.

I guess I AM evil for wanting to do this... just a little though.

I don't see fish either.I tried the shaders true but it didn't work for me either.I thought i would have a look around and see if anyone else was haveing the same problem and i see they are.Not overly concerned  about it.Don't have to fish but would like to some day

I have the same problem; I have the cheat in userstartup.cheat, yet I still can't see the fish (I can fish, just can't see them), although I can see the ones in the aquarium.

I use an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700.

Upgraded the drivers and changed the 3D settings, that worked on my comp.

I never had a problem seeing the fish, never had a problem catching them (with a gig of video ram I had better not either) however, I can't put them in the fridge and I can't compost them but I can hang them on the wall. Then I discovered that I can sell my catch and my sim has since quit his job to become a full time sport fisherman and he makes about 1500-2000 per day off his catch.

I couldn't see fish in tanks type boolProp useShaders true  it worked for me, now I can see the fish in tanks.But I am having a problem my sims cant fish,I click on a pond and it just says go here. The pond is deep enough and has fish jumping up out of it...

How do you add the fish boolprop useshaders true to start up. I hate typing this each time I play.Thanks..

Use the OBJ version of Insim, that's the most common fix

you can't put them in the fridge... you have to keep them in your inventory until you either hang them or cook them... and when you cook them it looks like confetti flies around them.

I can't see cooking them when a golden trout sells for over §500 and any of the large fish bring in over §100; what a waste that would be.

Go into 'My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Config'

You should see a file labeled as userStartup.cheat.

If you're using Windows XP, double-click it and it will try to open.

Choose 'Select a program from a list' and then choose 'Notepad'.

At the bottom of this window, where it has a checkmark and it says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file." UNCHECK IT. This is a safety precaution to make sure that the file stays labeled as a .cheat file.

Once it opens as a Notepad file, add the line:

boolprop useshaders true

Then, save and close it. When you next start your game, the code will already be activated and you don't have to worry about it. ;-)
