help i'm having crashing problems with sims 2 seasons

howster:
everytime i try to create a new sim or try to change their appearance in anyway my game crashes . i removed the download folder and still had this problem .  does anyone have an idea what could be wrong

last night i removed and reinstalled everything and seems to be working fine now.  i didn't save anything and have very little in my downloads folder .
