i just removed my game and reloaded this time leaving out all downloads
just the game is loaded and i still have no wants or fears for any sims. can anyone tell me what to do:sad4:

I think you will need to reinstall because one of the important game files probably got corrupted.

Make sure to do a back-up before you reinstall so you won't loose your sims.  You need to back-up at least the neighborhoods folder to keep them.

If it were me, I'd probably pass on backing up any sims, lots, neighborhoods in game at the moment.  If you have a sim or lot you really really want to hang onto, export it to a .Sims2Pack and reinstall it after you reinstall the game.  For the lots, make sure you don't reinstall any mods that may have been exported with it.

I personally think the objects.package file is the cause of all these problems, it got corrupted somehow so backing up should be pretty safe.

Simply making a copy of some folders and put them on your desktop.

The sims 2 files can be found in c:/mydocuments/eagames/thesims2 folder and subfolders.

now that ive backed up the files . how do i find which files may be corrupt?
im so sorry for bothering you guys but as you can see im no genius with this game.

You are not bothering us at all, I love helping people, if not, I would not hang in this section. :tongue:

Like I said earlier, I would do a complete reinstall if I were you since the want/fear problems is usually not related to a mod or cc problems.

So uninstall and reinstall all of your ep's (basic game include) and the patches.  Once this is done, start your game once go in any of the hood to check that want/fears are showing probably and enable custom content in your game.

Quit and then put your back-up in the same folders you copy it from.

Normally this should work.

i did everything you told me to do and still no wants or fears.
i even bought a new seasons 2 because i thought that could have been the problem. i can build and do everything else but no wants or fears for the sims.
