Not So Far Away Love

Chapter 1
"Well here goes. We are the Taylors. I'm Scott and this is my wife Kelly. We are both 32 years old. We met our junior year in college. We didn't date right away just became close friends. I was the RA in Kelly's dorm. Graduation day was the day we decided to make the plans to go on a date and have been together ever since. We got married 5 years ago and decided right away to start a family. We moved to a nice home in a nice community and started trying for a baby. We got pregnant within the first 3 months but when she was 7 weeks along we lost the baby. We tried again for the next 3 years with no luck. We saw a fertility specialist who told us that because of Kelly's progesterone level she would never be able to carry a baby to term. We coped with the news and then decided to take on the world of adoption. In
only 2 short months the agency we filed through called us and said that there was a 15 year old girl who was 8 months pregnant with a little girl and wanted us to be her baby's parents. The baby was born 3 weeks later. We brought little Alexis home and after 3 days the birth mother decided she wanted her back. We had no choice but to give her back. After waiting almost another year for someone else to pick us we are here, looking into international adoption."
"I'm so sorry about everything that has happened for the both of you." Said Mrs. Weslo the adoption attorney the Taylors had made the appointment to see almost 2 weeks ago. She was an nice woman probably around their same age. "I think that international adoption is a smart choice for you, its one of the most easiest adoptions there is." Mrs. Welso continued. "Thats good, I think its really what we are looking for." Said Scott. "Well here are a few forms for you and your wife to fill out and then I will get you into the computers and get your profile going. From there we will match you up with different children who match your specific wants." She said. She excused herself and the Taylors were left alone to fill out the paperwork. "Well hunny are we ready for this?" Scott asked looking at Kelly. She looked back at him and just nodded her head. She had been so nervous about the whole thing she wasn't sure what to say. Scott filled out the paperwork and then him and Kelly signed. Mrs. Welso came back in and said her goodbyes to the Taylors and started working on their file.
The whole way home Kelly was quiet. She had barely said 2 words since they woke up that morning. Scott knew she was scared. They had already lost so much they had no idea what type of risk they were taking in this endeavor. They had waited so long to have a baby and now they didn't even know if they would get a baby through this, they may only have older children. Kelly was just so nervous. They got home pretty late and decided to order take out from their favorite Chinese place. While they were eating Kelly broke down in tears. "I don't want an older child Scott, we have a nursery set up, I just want a baby." She sobbed so hard Scott thought she was going to hyperventilate. He went over to her chair and gave her a big hug and kiss. "Sweety I'm sure Mrs. Weslo will find us a baby. She knows thats what we are looking for. She will do what she can for us." Scott said. Kelly looked up at her and smiled. She felt safe in his arms. She felt like nothing could go wrong.
