phone problems

I hope this has not been posted but, all of a sudden my sims cannot use the phone. what is wrong? I hope someone can help me please?:smt120

In "cannot use the phone", do they autonomously answer the phone when it rings?  If it does, then chances are you have a custom mesh blocking your access to the phone to tell them to use it.  You can check by going into buy mod and attempt to pick up the phone from various angles.  If custom mesh is blocking the phone, you will pick it up instead.
