Nem dormitories

I was really disapointed with the pre-existing dormitories so I designed a new one, but the game recognizes it as a new house. How do I place the lot in the dormitories section?

use the cheat changeLotZoning dorm

I've never used a cheat in Sims 2 before :smt120. How do I do it? Do I need to place someone on the lot? And which keys do I press?

You press skift ctrl c  simultaneously,a box will open at the top of your screen,just tape  ChangeLotZoning dorm and press Enter.All this while you are on the lot.
