Help with Skin Tone Links

Hi all,

I know how to link skin tones to body types if there is a top and bottom nude, like the body builder or warlokk type of mods.  But can someone tell me how to link a skin tone to something like the mer people so they can stay mer people when naked please?  Is there a tutorial out there that can help?  Thanks all,
