My friend's sims are deleted! Can I do anything?

This might have to go in the Sims 2 Seasons help fourm then I'm reeeaaallly sorry :3 Anyway, I told my friend to back-up her files and then install Sims 2 Seasons, She did that and found her sims deleted! How did this happen and can we fix it? Thanks for reading!

If they aren't in the recycle bin (probably aren't), they're gone.  Sorry!

In the future: Before installing a new pack, go to My Documents\EA Games and rename the The Sims 2 folder to something like "The Sims 2 safe"  After the installation, delete the new The Sims 2 folder and change the name of your "real" one back.

Ooohh... Thanks :3  I knew it! but I think she called it the "Back up folder"..
How did it happen if she named the folder differently?

Did she search her entire computer for the Back up folder? Maybe it got saved somewhere she didn't realize it was saving it to.

Thanks you two! I warned her and told her what you guys said! She got over her sadness because she only had three families! (There was alot of genrations though!)
