yea do you have any idea? I only have the sims 2 no expansions

If you enable custom content, quit the game and then restarted it and make sure you have both the mesh and recolors and they do not show up it is weird.

You could try to delete your groups.cache file located in your Sims 2 folder under mydocuments.

EDIT:  Did you unzip them or unrar them (meaning extracting them) so they are showing as .package file in your Downloads folder?  If you created your own Downloads folder, did you spell it this way Downloads?  Capital D and the s at the end are very important.
