removing some building items

Is there a way to delete the steps or other parts of an already saved house?

Yeah, go into build mode and hold control or shift, i can't remember and drag the mouse along the wall you want to get rid of. As for steps i thought you could just click on them and delete them like anything else.

You sometimes need to remove the roof to be able to delete stairs.
