I don't know much about graphics cards so can some one help me out on which to get? it's hard to play the game specially with all the crashing

a 256mb or a 512mb graphics crd is prefereble. check the sims 2 official site for which graphics cards that they support.

Also take into account how many expansion/stuff packs you have installed, and whether you're using Vista.

ok, as long as it can support every expacion pack so far and as long as it can handle a lot that's good

If you can afford it, I wouldn't go for anyting less than 256 mb, regardless of what the site says.

I'm still on a crappy 128mb card with all ep's except OFB and it runs like a bag of crap! so definitely don't get anythin less than 256mb. If you have a lot of EP's installed 512mb would be your best bet.

... does that mean I have to go hunt the needle then? It is possible to upgrade the card on my laptop to 256MB, but try finding one with a reasonable price tag... try finding one at all I really don't want to get another system if I can help it...
