Ok.. Can you change the filename of sims in the saved sims folder?

Additionally is there something other than simpe that I can maybe figure out what sims is what in my saved sims folder?

I ask this because I got a new commputer and did a clean install of sims. But I have my files from the install that was on my old drive and there are a few sims Id like to have back.
On the same note can I just pluck out sim files from one saved sims folder and plop them into the clean install's saved sims folder?

Moving files from one SavedSims folder to another is not a problem.

Moving a sim from one neighborhood to another is pretty much limited to using SimPE to export the sim and then putting it back into the new neighborhood via CAS and basing a new sim on that "custom sim"

yes, you can change the file name. I've done it myself. To figure out which file was which sim, I had to load Bodyshop with only 1 sim in at a time, see who it was then exit and rename the file.
