Since I finally seem to have gotten my jump bug problem fixed recently, I now have another problem of the game randomly crashing, like AxelVal has here. I've deleted the groups.cache and the other files there several times without success since it keeps crashing on me after playing inside houses for a few minutes. I've had my custom careers disabled ever since my jump bug problem before so I know it cant be those causing this crash for me. When I was in game just before, I was just creating a room for my newest baby that was born recently and just as I was trying to get the mom to put the baby in the crib this time is when it crashed on me, I'm only using a maxis crib and stuff for the room as well, no custom stuff in there at all, even tho I do have a custom crib that I've had for months without using it in awhile. I would run the lot without CC but all the sims in my lots use custom skins that are in my DL folder so I don't think that would work well for me. I have no idea what could be causing this problem either, since the problem that I thought it might be was taken care of and it still crashes on me when trying to get this one room completed for that baby and it even crashes on me when trying to actually save the game itself so any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem shortly after I got a new computer.  I could play the game a while, then crash.  It turned out the on board NVidia video card, despite the memory and power to run the game.  I installed the card from my old computer and it worked fine afterwards.  I believe there are new drivers for the NVidia to fix that problem.  This may or may not be the cause of your problems.

I use an ATI Radeon X600 card that was built wit my pc that I got on 9/14/06 but this just recently started after the jump bug was gone and I made sure to get the latest drivers for my card as well recently to.

Doesn't sound like the video driver's the problem then.  Have you recently added any custom furniture?  If so, you may have something requiring an EP or SP you don't have.  It would be custom furniture with a new mesh, not just a recolor.

I know sometime recently that I joined TSR, free membership, and got some stuff from there but I made sure to check the options to match what I own but I guess something could have went wrong and I may have gotten something there that requires an SP that I don't have since I have all EP's and FFS. I can try to double check those files I got from there and see if that helps or not.

Bear in mind not all creators identify what EPs/SPs are required, so something that is marked base game could actually require an SP.

I was just in the game again right now in a different house and the game did not crash on me at all and did not crash on me when saving the game either, so now I'm thinking that the house where my sim lives somehow got corrupted sometime since I played it one time, since that is the only house so far that has crashed on me lately so when I go back in again sometime, I'm thinking that I might try moving them out of that current house and build a new house for them and see if that happens again or not. I'm crossing my fingers that its just that house being corrupt and nothing more serious.

Maniac, before you try and move then out, use the 'boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true'. So if you try to move them out and you get an error, just hit delete. Sad if you cant rescue them from that house.

Thanks for the tip DC, I entered it in before loading that lot and got an error on a download I had, MTS2_Dave_Luv_479566_Simsky-TS2-MultiAlarm, then once I clicked delete on it, the lot loaded fine and didn't crash on me so I was able to put the regular maxis smoke alarm up in the kitchen where that file was so thankfully I now got it taken care of thanks to you.

Oh, btw you can call me Mark instead of Maniac if you want I don't mind.

I had trouble with that fire alarm too--it was a while ago--it's a pity because I really like it--it must conflict with something.
