I got a Servo, set everything up with it, and it didn't do anything unless I directed it to.

So I'm wondering ... no matter what, does it work just like a Sim if I have the Free Will option turned off?

And is there a way to override that with a hack or mod, something?

It seems that you have a hack that stops it. The servo works on a "Do chores" base. This means that in fact it does nothing but periodically is turn on to make cleaning, gardening, cooking, etc.
If you have a hack sort of "No Do Chores", the servo will do absolutely nothing.
If you have Free Will Off, not only the Servo but No Sims will do something without you tell them.

I always play with the Free Will off, always have, probably always will ... I know my Sims don't do anything without me telling them to, and I figured that is what stopped my Servos, too.

But is it that or is it a hack that's blocking it from doing anything?
