Boolprop HELP

Can someone tell me if this works with NL Boolprop tesingCheatsEnabled true please. Can't get it to work and what does it mean to shift click.

1. Press CTRL+SHIFT+C to bring up the debug console
2. Type boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true and press enter
3. Hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and at the same time click the left mouse button on a sim.  You will be presented with several new menu items/cheats/etc.  There's lots of goodies in the testing cheats  - so poke around and experiment.  Not everything in the menus work, however - but most do.

on a mac, the apple-key usually does the work of the CTRL-key (though I'm not completely sure if it is like that ingame, as I play on a PC)
 
(the apple key annoys me like crazy because I'm used to PC, and on my school, we've only got mac's. what's the point of an extra key, really?)
