The Great Journey Chapter 5 started

Sierra117:
This story is about a family on the run from the law. It is called the great journey, because its about a teenager who finds a way of trying to prove their family is not responsible for the killing of a VIP.

For almost 18 years now, me and my family have been on the run from the law trying to mantain secrecy from the law. My mother Nancy, my father Mark, and my grown up brother, Victor, have been jumping from one place to another, trying to stay hidden. Though this is all behind us now we still are haunted by it. We were blamed for a lie of the killing of a VIP, but we had to move and stay together. But my mom and dad, exposed us, and sent me through what I call, the great journey. My name is Brittany Anderson also.

Stelio Kontos:
A pretty good concept.
A 8.5/10. One meaningless gramatical error detracted from the score, but I have a tendency to be nitpicky about that.

Chapter 1: The Secret

It was just simply another day, though little did I know this would be the day I found out about what my parents hid through me for almost 2 decades. I woke up and the sun was shining on me. I cleared my eyes and got dressed. I walked downstairs and mom was watching tv while dad was cooking breakfast.

"What are you cooking dad?" I asked.
"Your favorite" he said.
"Yeah!" I said.

Soon mom came out and grabed a plate. The same for me and dad. After we sat down and started eating, I mention something that made them feel I was getting suspicious about what they were hiding from me.
"Hey dad, mom"
"Yeah dear?" mom responded.
"Well, for the past 15 years, we've been moving from one location from the other" "and well, I don't really know why. I haven't asked it before, so I finally remembered today"
"Thats really complicated," said dad.
"Its a very long story and" dad cut himself off.
"Like what?" I responded.
"Oh look!" "Time for school!" mom said.
"Goodbye Brittany" mom and dad said.

"Look we need to talk," mom said.
"About what dad said" dad said.
"What you almost spat out!" mom shouted
"Yes I know," dad replied.
"Look, I know we have to contiune keeping this a secret between you me and Victor, but this is very cruel" mom said.
"I know" dad replied.
"If we ever tell her, she would hate us for a lifetime" dad said.
"But we have to" mom said softly.
"Telling her is not the only way" dad said.
"Then what else?" mom shouted.
"By turning ourselves in" dad said.
"What!?! We can't leave her!" mom yelled.
"We have to," dad replied.
"They don't know we have kids, and thats why it will be just you and me" dad said.
"When?" mom said.
"Tonight, when she goes to sleep" dad said softly.
"Okay" mom said.

Soon I arrived home from school, feeling nothing was wrong.
"Hi dear" mom said.
"Hi" I responded as I was walking into the dining room.
I sat my homework down and began to work on it.

When I finished, moms eyes began to tear up. I thought that she was having another one of those moments, so I went outside and got into the pool. I then went to sleep, still feeling nothing was wrong. Then mom and dad came in and said goodnight, little did I know, they were saying goodbye.

To be continued.....

Stelio Kontos:
Still a good story.
Off-topic: Let me guess, you're like me and wait until at least Chapter 2 to introduce the main plotline for a story.

Sierra117:
Chapter 2: The Surrender

"Shes asleep" mom said quietly to dad.
"Okay" dad replied.
Mom and dad soon quietly stepped out the door and into the dark.

The next morning, the 2 arrived at Philbrook Police Station.

That man right there, is police chief Sean Philbrook who dedicated the police station to his lastname.

The 2 then stepped in the lot and hugged each other and took a deep breathe.
"It's going to be okay" dad said.
Nancy tried to hold back her cry but she couldn't.
Nancy then hugged dad tightly and started for it.
"Exceuse me" said dad.
"Yes?" the guard said.
"I'd like to speak with the police cheif" said dad.
"Ah yes right down the door straight ahead" he said.

Mark and Nancy tried walking into the door but were stopped by a loud voice.
"Wait" the desk man said. "You have to sign in"
"Oh Okay" Mark walked up to the desk.
Mark then signed it.

"Leroy, will you take these 2 to the chief?" said the desk man.
"Sure" said the guard.

The 2 then walked behind the door to find another guard and another door.
"Right in here sir" said the man.

The 2 then nervousily steped in the office.
"Sir, we have 2 who would like to talk to you" said the man.
The Police Chief then started out with a question.

"So who are you 2?" said the police chief.
"Were Mr. and Mrs. Anderson" said Mark.
Then the police chief remained silent for a second.
"Mr. and Mrs. Anderson huh? Well we've been expected you" said the police chief.
"And you know what? We've been hunting you down for 18 and a half years" said the police chief.
"We know" said Nancy.
"So that puts you in jail" said the police chief.
"NO!" Mark yelled as the chief got up.
Mark got up and ran for the chief. But right when he got near him, he was pulled back by Leroy.

"PUT THE 2 IN THE CELLS NOW!" the chief demanded.
"Yes sir," said the guard.
Leroy walked them into their cells and threw them ruthlessly into their cells.

The chief walked up and looked at the 2. He had a mad face.
Though it was only the first day, the 2 were still feeling bad about doing that,
but it would have only been worse if they didn't do it.

To be contiuned.....
