Where did you learn about all the medical parts of the story? Just good old research? Or personal experience?
This story teaches me a lot of things.
In biology class we were learning about genetic disorders, and part of it was sex-linked genetic disorders. When I saw DMD, I was thinking loudly in my head "I know what that is!" I had half a mind to start talking about it because I knew about it.
But I didn't. Just sat quietly, quite happy with myself. It's little things like this that keep me in a good mood. :p

The main inspiration from LFB actually came from a school assignment a girl in my photoclass did. She had photographed three brothers where two of them had DMD, and made it into a touching music video. I got curious, and did some research on it. At around the same time, I also entered the "supermommy" contest, and suddenly the story was born.
A lot of the underlying story comes from personal experience, though most of the medical stuff is research. A lot of "House MD" and "Grey's anatomy", A touch of Youtube, but mostly research on Wiki and medical sites.
And there's (nearly) always hope ;)
