Is the Sims2 a DVD Disk?

My friend wants to buy the Sims 2 but she doesn't have a DVD Drive on her computer. Does just the basic Sims 2 need a DVD Drive? And do the expansion packs? Thanks.

The Sims 2 came on CDs and DVD. I'm not certain if all the expansions come on CD, because I always buy the DVD.

I have two DVD drives and I bought mine in CD format.

LittleMoonCakes, I know you've already apologized, but bumping and double posting every fifteen minutes is a huge no-no. As to your question, you can buy the game and eps in either CD or DVD format. You have a choice.
