Problem placing house on lot...

I have a few 1x1 houses that I want to place on a certain spot on my lot and even though they are the right size, none of them will lock on. I even tried placing empty lots on that section as well and that doesn't work. Is there a cheat or something that I can use to make the lot except the houses? I am desperate. I have filled my entire community except that darn spot and there are few buildings I wanted to place there. :-?

Try placing as many of the 1x3 lots from the game there.  If you need to delete them and start from the other side also.  Once every possible square has had part the Maxis lot on it, delete them all then try placing the 1x1 lots.

I placed some 3x1's on that section and it warped the land a bit so my 1x1's would fit.
