Roommate Problems....

Has anyone else had problems getting your roommates to show up?  I get their thumbnail, can read all their stats they just never show up till I enter the boolprop controlpets true.  Then they show up but everytime I click on them my sims reset/snap and I can't get them to interact.  So I finally had to kick them out.

I only have Merola's painting and MATY's AL updated hacks.  I have disabled all other hacks.

Hope someone has had this and fixed it cause I really want a roommate.

I have the same problem with AL, also, I have the "cursed to remain residential lot mail box" problem - meaning, on all apartment lots I get the regular box and I can't pay my rent.

Get Pescado's Unofficial AL Patch.  It fixes the mailbox problem among other things.

Hi everybody, this is my first post... I have the same problem with the roommate,   I had the mailbox problem, too, but I've found and trown away the mod that caused it. But the roommate is still invisible, even if there are no mods or hacks in my downloads folder... Don't know what to do..

Look in mydocuments/ea games/the sims 2/ config for user startup cheats. It's a text file and it seems AL doesn't like boolprop cheats in there. I had the roomate problem and crashes until I removed startup boolprops. The cheats work if you activate them in game but, for some reason they cause problems if you load with them on.

I don't have that file in my config folder...the only files I have in it are "Broadcast", "userProps" and "VideoCapture". The only hack I have in my game is that multi-purpose painting that lets you change stats and skills but it's never interferred with the game before. My roommates still aren't showing up and it's getting really irritating...anyone?

same things has been happening to me but I used the insimenator to make my roommate selectable after I deleted her from the lot then invited her over to hang out and then I selected her. I can't do anything with her at all either. I'll try getting rid of that usercheat thingy and see what happens.

edit: I still have the regular malibox too not the AL one. hopefully a patch comes out soon.

I have sort of the same problem but mine is with my fellow npc neighbours they just stay in there apartments all day even if you ask them to come out they just go straight back in again...  How do you get rid of these people so it can re sporn somemore...
