serious glitch in my game!?

Sorry for posting here, but the other forums weren't working for me.
So a friend recently gave me sims 2 pets, and my dog got pregnant, but it has been over one sims week and yet no puppies. It keeps coming up at the top where it has the actions that the sim/animal is performing/going to perform, saying 'give birth' but then it vanishes and no puppies. This has been happening for a few sim days on 2 different familys. I have tried moving to a different house, but it still does the same thing. Has this happened to anyone before and does anybody know how to fix it or what is going wrong!?

Well I have downloaded clothes and stuff, but the only thing i can think of is inteenemator. What is a patch? Everything worked fine when i had no EP's.

A patch fixes the bugs in the game. You go to the Offical Sims 2 site to download it.

so it has to stay on the desktop? it can't go in the EA games folder? Also, most importantly, does it work for mac?
I don't think it does...coz there is no aplication to open it with, but i think i found one for mac, is it the same? here is the link

It can't go in your games folder, it's a program.
It looks like it, but I'm no expert on Mac's.
