Laptop or Game?

Hey everyone,

Hope all is well with you.  I have a problem.  I used to be able to plays sims 2 with no problems.  However, now almost every time I put the CD in and hit the play button, my laptop comes up with a message that goes like "No CD/DVD-ROM drive found".  Thinking that my CD/DVD reader is dead, I stick a normal movie in and voila it plays.  It plays everything except the Sims 2 game.  I havent tried it out with other games (just got back from my honeymoon :smt106) but I am pretty sure that it will work and not give me a hard time like Sims.

Any ideas or advice?
