Creation help - Her boyfriend's shirt

I'm interested in making a shirt that will hang loosly over a female frame. I've already made the mesh but...

I'd also like to be able to get rid of the collor and make a sports jersey or a sexy nighty or a t-shirt with her panties on. Of course I'd like to be able to make it transparent to some degree because the body under it is really nice I think.

The sirt is from the maxis oxford with capri mesh lengthened a bit and generally made "bigger" to imply that it's her boyfriend's shirt.

If it is possible please point me to a tutorial that will tell me how to make the shirt an alpha.

start bodyshop
clone the hula skirt
start a new project with Simpe
use PJSE tool to make a new meshpackage(save it, blablabla)
use PJSE tool to link the mesh to your recolor.
open the meshpackage with simpe
extract the gmdc(mesh) and open it with Milkshape

This will give you a idea how a alpha is build and wich settings it needs.
You can load your own mesh parts in it, rename them properly(dont forget the comment boxes) and export/import them in the hula mesh package.

so you will have a nude body called body and the shirt is called body_alpha.

Unfortunate you will be very dissapointed when you once see it animate ingame.
The nude body and shirt use diffrent boneassignements wich will result in the body comming through the shirt.
The best way to make a alpha wrapped arround the body is to duplicate the body and make a shirt from the duplicate.
Thats how i make all my alpha's and multi's.
Later on you can attache a collar and such.

Another thing that will never work are the shoulders, the arms animate in a way that they always will clip with a layer arround it.
I once made a shirt and spend weeks to get it right.....

I have found out why everytime I start up bodyshop is like lighting a fuse with this mesh or at least I think I know why it keeps exploding. I tried to check the bone assignments and whadaya know no assignments at all. I mean nothing was assigned. not the shirt the body. Oh what a mess. I'll assign them and hopefully it will work.

Assigning bones is a incredible time consuming job, especially when you have to redo the fullbody.
Losing the boneassignements on a mesh most of the times happens when you export the mesh with unimesh but forgot to write down the correct comments in the comment box.
Or, imported obj files dont have boneassignements at all

OMG! Bloom you aint kidding! I think you're probably right about starting over. I started to assign those infernal things last night and found it quite impossible. I'll just start over but I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your help!

Ok so I started over and got the mesh to stop blowing up. It looks pretty good but now it's showing kinda weird. Spaces in the alpha and stuff. I have a couple of ideas to try but any help would be appreciated.

spaces in the alpha? you mean holes? in bodyshop?
you have to fix your textures maybe to view the full alpha?
make a recol and make the full alpha bmp file grey and give it a solid color.

Thank Bloom for responding. Yeah it's in bodyshop. I recolored it with the shirt texture that I took the mesh from. It covers it well but like when you turn it to the side you can see the elbow through the shirt and the back of the sleeves are like shreded. I was wondering if I should adjust the UV map or something. I should've brought pics. Show you tomorrow.

Best thing is to extract the uvmap and put it up as clothing.
Use lithunwrap to do so.
I dont have bodyshop open right now but it will look like this:

This is my very first alpha i did, spend weeks on it to get the animations right.
Then, with this outfit you go slowmotion dancing i did it for hours and hours and hours.
But you will easy find the verts to adjust.
At this point i think you have to give the shirt the bonesettings of the body, if the elboy is poking through.
But all together.....these meshes are very difficult to get right.

Yes Bloom I have no doubt this mesh will give me hours upon hours of frustrating fun! At any rate as I said here are the pics.







I've seen this kind of thing before where something that should be hidden shows through alpha parts.

its not weird, it comes with alpha's, especially with the blend settings in the txmt's.

If you only want it alpha editible, to make it shorter and such you can enable the alphatestenabled in the txmt's instead of the blend settings.
This will disable the posibility to use the transparancy but will still allow you to cut away parts when recoloring and the shirt will be solid without errors.

btw, i did the same mesh i think but in 34DN breastsize.

You can fix the bleeding through alot by splitting up the shirt in a few parts, like a left and a right and also make the sleeves seperate.
You can then fiddle with the opacity wich part you want to let overrule another part.
Name all parts the same so they share the same uvmap.
