Starting in 1977 the same time as the Toronto Blue Jays started to play ball, the Seattle Mariners began playing ball at the Kingdome from 1977 to 1999. After that, the Mariners started to play at Safeco Field, and they still are today. Before the Yankees, A-Rod played for the Mariners at the Kingdome in 1994 till 2000 at Safeco before moving to Texas. But 2001 also has another great Mariner in Japanese player, Ichiro Suzuki.
