I have  been so devestated today. I accidentally overwrote my downloads folder with another folder named 'downloads' which I thought WAS my main folder. I recently uninstalled all my games except for Double Deluxe, to make harddrive space for that stupid TS3 game, and now everything is gone! I am so upset! I was just wondering is there any way I can get my folder back, like through my registry or something? I tried system restore but it didn't work..I am just feel so overwhelmed trying desperatley to get back everything I had a day ago. I mean I had over 2 GB of downloads! I am crushed, and I think I just may be screwed, so any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

that has all the mods by catagories  like 'feeling' and 'wants'? I can't really remember but I think it might be Simbology.com, but I don't know for sure..the site had Inge moderating at it, with hacked objects you could use to make your own prison, or school umm 5 keyhole doors, reservable beds..am I ringing any bells? I can't remember alot of details about the site, I lost my entire downloads folder today so I am livid.. any help would be appreciated. I don't know how long this is going to take, but I'm trying to get back all my stuff.

like the .cache files in TS2? I was wondering if this would speed the game up by deleting some of those bulk files, that the game produces, like scriptCache.package or CompositorCache.package and simCompositorCache.package because those three files seem like the biggest files? I haven't deleted any yet, just simply curious if I could?

 I have been contemplating whether or not if I am going to buy a new computer, I was wondering what brand, OS, and specs some of you computer savvy folks would suggest? I don't really want to buy the computer solely for the fact to play TS3, I just need a new computer in general since mine is like 3-4 years old. I'm not sure what kind of computer to buy either, laptop, notebook, or a desktop? I am pretty strapped for cash atm, as is the rest of America (but what's new?) so please don't recommend me a 6000$ alien-ware or something lol! Please just give me some suggestions of some nice, fast, modern models with a relatively good GC, and one that will last me atleast a couple of years.

Use the CAS (Create A Style) tool on a Sim outside of CAS (Create A Sim) mode? I was wondering why I couldn't alter my Sims bathrobe today while I was playing the game. I have seen lots of people with, obvious styled attire, but I don't know how they did it? Please help...

I am so angry! I went ahead and did it, I bought my game this morning and got it home popped it in and low and behold, I am bomb barded with problems from the get go. First thing I noticed was my game was running extremley too slow even on the lowest of settings. I mean I literally spent 3 hours in CAS choosing what to wear for my sim, because it took I know atleast 15 minutes for the clothes sort to load! I haven't noticed anything apparent as of yet but I think this next one is well worth any other bug I could imagine, and quite possibly the most damaging! Everytime I go into either a premade lot or add a CAS sim everything is peachy until I go into build or buy mode and then when I try to direct my sim to take an action she just stand there like an idiot and won't move! I noticed the only time they will move is if THEY want to do something like go to the friggin' library for example.


I went to the official site to try to get some help by registering, and I was mortified to see the pages of help threads posted at the site. I saw 35 pages in counting of hundreds of people literally begging EA for help and not one time has EA wrote back to help any of them! I mean what is this s--t?! Is this some kind of sick joke? I don't find it the slightest bit amusing, that they refuse to help anyone. I am so mad and frustrated I just don't know what to do, I just spent 55$ for this piece of s--t and I can't even play it!


If anyone is interested in the fire storm over at the official site they should go check it out, because you will not believe it till you see it!

I will admit, I screwed up big time and will NEVER give EA another damn dime!

I was curious how you all feel about seeing most of the objects in TS2 return again in TS3? I mean if you will look at some of the screenshots on various sites you can clearly see that the same objects from TS2 will be in the TS3 albeit recolored 100 times, this sort of ticks me off because I would think that EA would atleast add new objects to a *new* game

Is there a mod like this anywhere? It annoys me to no end that two sims can snuggle on the couch and when you choose for them to turn the t.v. on while still cuddling they either stop to turn the t.v. on or ignore the request all together. I just thought of this one today and thought I'd request it

Is this possible? I really like the lighting that came with The Sims Life Stories and would even consider replacing gun mods lighting file with it for my main game, has anyone ever attempted copying the lighting.txt and putting it in TS2 directory? or should I maybe not do this lol?

I have been playing Sim City 4 Deluxe for about 3 days now and I literally have no idea what the purpose is of the game, and I seriously cannot be bothered to read an inch and a half thick booklet all I want to do is to make a simple neighborhood like I have seen others mention they used SC4 for so would anyone give me a run-down of what the purpose of the game is for? I mean I am just not amused in the slightest at making a city for the Sims 1 I thought that the game was to make a city like setting with police stations, hospitals, schools and the like and then export the new 'neighborhood' into the Sims 2 game but I dont know how to do that, I'm pretty angry because I spent 30$ for it at wal-mart the other day and the stupid people at customer service won't take the damn thing back because its copy write protected and now the game is just sitting there staring at me... lol thanks for any help

I have been realllyy quite bored with my sims2 games lately and wanted something with a bit different taste so I went out and got The Sims Life Stories today and installed it, and amazingly I liked it pretty well but one major thing I hate is some of the horendious maxis crap thats shipped with the game by default so I now know that you can have CC & hacks for this game like any other TS2 game which I didn't think you could but now that I know, awesome! but I was wondering or making sure really quickly, if I download a hack mod, or any sort of CC I should make sure its compatible with The base game through Pets for it to work in the game correct? but it has been a really long time since I manually added a downloads folder to my TS2 directory and I was wondering if I just go into My Documents, Electronic Arts, The Sims Life Stories, and just click add new documents and place it in the directory, if not how would I go about making a new downloads folder because poor Riley I just don't think that I can bear to look at her any longer knowing she could have new hair, clothes, and make-up so once I find out how to manually add my downloads folder I'm hitting MTS2 and getting her some fabolous Bruno cosmetics A.S.A.P. thanks for the help everyone

I have yet another request for either of you who would like to tackle this, okay I don't know about you but I can't stand it when I spend literally 'hours' and sometimes perhaps days furnishing beautiful homes with beautiful objects only to move my sims in to find that they don't like the rooms at all... I spent all this weekend furnishing the HGTV Dream Home of 2009 on MTS2 for my uber rich family the Richardson's (I know, I know I have no life ) but still I finished up the last room somewhere around 6 P.M. today and moved my family in and my female whom is the mother of the household and is a fortune aspiration sim through all of the rooms it seems like that her enviromental score is still in the yellow? which makes me mad because I refuse to refurnish the home just to please her..so I was wondering is there a hack out there or would you PLEASE consider making a hack for me Squinge or Chaavik that completley max's the enviroment score to full or possibly make it obsolete? so I won't have to worry about pleasing all my sims room scores? because I don't know about any of the rest of you, but that does bug me that they don't like what I do to their homes, and I made sure I had sufficient lighting and paintings and all that but still for some reason she hates almost all the rooms of the house especially the master bathroom (which I feel is the prettiest room of the house) please help me if you can

I was wondering if one of you wonderful builders out there could please take the time to help me I am really struggling with a nice alien home for my aliens in strangetown as I am total crap when building anything for TS2 I was  messing around today on TS2 for PS2 and I remember when I used to play that game alot that one time I got so far in the story line where I unlocked a secret lot called 'The Alien Crash Site' and I may be completley in the wrong asking this here since most Simmers only deal with the PC version of TS2 but I was wondering if anyone who has played the PS2 version knows what lot I am talking about? I'll do my best to describe it


The lot has some kind of a hottub in the backyard that the sims can get in by being levitated into and the hottub is creating an illusion of a regular Sims home by a hollographic image of one but when you get close to the actual 'house' you can see the spacey type home within it also has two aliens named XHT-Smith and XXY Smith and there 'crazy' alien conspirated neighbor Jonas who lives on the same lot in a small trailer like home I think it would be impossible to get screenshots of just the house and the floor plan but I was wondering one day when one of you didn't have anything to do if you could fire up the ole' PS2 and go to the ACS and look at the overall flow of the lot and try to build me a simple version of it, it doesn't even have to be furnished I would just want the frame of the house I could probably find all the CC for it if one of you would just be so kind and build me the walls for it, I will try to get some very basic screens of it which I feel will be difficult to find but if your interested in helping me please reply it would mean alot to me thank you for taking the time to read all my mumbo jumbo


Oh I thought I would add one more thing if whoever wanted to try this and didn't want to go through the trouble of actually playing the game that long to see the lot you should do this


Type in on your controller during live mode-

L1 R1 Up X R2 -To Unlock Gnome Needed To Acess The Cheats Menu
Circle L2 Left Circle Up Circle -To Unlock All Lots Within Story Mode


*You'll Know You Typed In The Cheat Right If You Hear Your Sim Sigh*(Oahhh)


After You type in both those cheats click on the gnome and choose unlocks..and then All Lots and then go over to the call booth and call a taxi to take you over to the Alien Crash Site
