Title: How do I pack custom content?
Post by: Pilotpigen on October 31, 2008, 08:20:01 am
I have just made my very first recolor (YAY!), but I don't know how to pack it so it can be ready for upload. Any help is very welcome! I have SIMPE and Clean Installer + winrar.

What I do is, right click on the object, Choose add to archive (WinRAR), click OK and you're done.

The file should be in your SavedSims folder - it'll be named how your project was named in Bodyshop with a few characters in front :)

e.g.
5f114e4b_BloodStainSWAT
5f799244_LamiaTail

Ohh - thank you! So I don't have to pack it from my projects folder?

Sweet, I had recolor some in-game pics, but didn't know how to find them. Thanks!

I pack them from the SavedSims folder, I don't know if from the Project folder works :) Maybe it does.

Don't pack up recolors from the Projects folder.  They are in an intermediate state and won't work in the game, even though they are .package files.  From Bodyshop or Homecrafter you have to import the recolor into your game first.  Homecrafter items, i.e. walls, floors, and terrain paint will be in the Downloads folder, everything from Bodyshop in SavedSims.

Homecrafter also gives you the option to pack the file into a .sims2pack directly.  Or maybe that's the only way.  It's been a while since I used it.  :D
