OK, tried the suggestions multiple times without success, and now,I've done an even bigger OOOOOOOPS. I deleted the phone booth & commercial garbage can, so hopefully, when I do find the replacements, I'll be able to get that lot working again. Darn, loved that dorm too Keep your fingers crossed - just hope my ooops turns out for the best!

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Ooops. Messed Up Lot Zoning in University!

Just started creating a new university last night & in my exuberance, didn't notice until I had completed a really nice dorm, I had the lot zoned community.
You'd think I'd have noticed the phone booth, but didn't! So, I tried to reset it to residential then dorm, but the phone booth is still there and now I can't move in any of my Sim Students. I really love the building too, so if you have any suggestions on how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it!
p.s. I have no problem with using hacks!

I took this one a few months ago but totally forgot about it. It was a weird glitch that caused a massive trail of bubbles to constantly flow out of Jayne's butt.
The only way I could get him to stop farting bubbles was to leave the game without saving. LOL. Happened to me last night too, my stomach was killing me I was laughing so hard! This happened to an NPC though. Bubble Butt attacks again!

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Resolved: Nanny/Baby Abuse
|
on: February 21, 2007, 08:57:01 pm

I did a search, but couldn't find anything else about this. My nannies are horrible and abuse the poor kids! Sure, when they finally decide to get up of the couch & feed the kid, they never return the baby to the crib, just leave it laying on the floor until Mom comes home. If the baby needs changing, the nanny never uses the change table, will most often change the kid in the kitchen and leave dirty diapers laying all over the place. I honestly can't remember when I first noticed this happening. Most times, I can get away without hiring a nanny, and just have one of the parents not work. Guess just live with it?? On a side note, when the mother has an affair, gets pregnant, hires a nanny, they never recognize the live-in boyfriend/husband and will only follow the mother's schedule, never pays attention to any other "of age" sims that can watch the kids - like teens & adult children. So, when I have those times when their work days overlap - he leaves at 4pm to start work at five, she works until 5, the nanny comes, then leaves, then won't come again to fall into proper schedule. At least, when the sim family has a car, they have a bit of a window to get to work the minute the mother comes home.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / start up
|

I had this problem until I installed a new CD drive that I use solely for just "reading" game CD's. My system came with a DVD/CD write with lightscribe which runs slower and is INCREDIBLY picky about discs I put in, sometimes it would take me over an hour to get a game past the flash screen. I picked up a cheapy $30 CD reader, set it as a secondary drive and my game starts immediately. (knock wood).

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Collars not appearing in Inventory.
|
on: January 08, 2007, 07:32:09 pm

Just be sure you have enough floor space around the mirror for the pet to come to the Sims side to "place the collar". I just figured it out for the first time myself last night. I place a maxis mirror (my custom ones didn't seem to work) on an empty wall in an empty room, had my current sim click on the mirror and clicked "change appearance of pet", my sim called the cat over (stood to the left but not sure if that makes a big deal or not), and then the change appearance menu came up, and was able to put the collar on the cat and also changed his colour (was pretty ugly to begin with).
