Title: Normals Problem With A Mesh Post by: Mr.T on March 11, 2010, 05:05:15 pm Hello! I have a bit of a problem with my normals. To elaborate, this strange box-like seam appears where I frankenstined the wavy bottom of the Nightlife 1920s dress to the coat part of the Seasons raincoat, which I converted into a top. The seam only shows up on the front of my mesh when I have previewed a texture, and not on any other setting, smooth-shaded included. I used Dameon's Align Normal's tool on this seam and nothing happened. Since the problem only arises when I preview textures, I figured that my UV map must need changing. The seam still remained despite my adjustments. Here are some pictures for clarification.

It should kinda look like this(quickly remapped the front and back) (http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/372/uvmap.jpg) (http://img534.imageshack.us/i/uvmap.jpg/) Title: Re: Normals Problem With A Mesh Post by: Mr.T on March 12, 2010, 08:46:20 pm You're very kind! :D
I'd like to learn how to remap things, but I evidently have no idea how. There aren't a lot of UV mapping tutorials on the internet. I'm basically asking "Whoa. How'd you do that?" In the future I want to have an idea of what I'm doing so I no longer have to take up your time or anyone else's. The sides are stretched, you need to adjust that edit, here: Title: Re: Normals Problem With A Mesh Post by: Mr.T on March 13, 2010, 01:13:38 am Thank you so much! You're generous indeed.
