Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: Photobooth picture frames?

Actually, after I had posted that, I did exactly what you suggested and got a frame that you can do it with..been playing with it a bit in Photofiltre. Sometimes it takes my imagination a bit to fire up.
Edited 8/27:
I have found a really cool little app called "Polardroid", which takes images on your computer and transforms them into Polaroids..any JPEG can go into it. What's really cute is when you click on the link to start the program, a Polaroid camera pops up-then you drag and drop the image onto it; the "camera" makes the familiar grinding sound, and your image appears to be developing, just like the real thing. Wicked cool!
If you're interested in this, just google "Polardroid"-note the name. It's slightly different than the real Polaroid, but it is a free app.

Ah, well. Guess I have to do it the old-fashioned way. You see, what I'm trying to do with it is make a "montage" picture of simmies from my neighborhoods to put in as a neighborhood picture screen-the one that loads in the game, in order to differentiate the various Pleasantviews I have. I thought that I could do it the same way the original PV screen was done, with all the various characters pictured as in photographs.
I suppose I will just have to play around with various screen shots and the photo program that I have. I just needed the "shell" of the picture frame in order to use it effectively.
Thanks for the help, though.

Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Photobooth picture frames?

I've been looking forever for a hack or mod that would "frame" a Sim for a picture just like the photobooth frame, without using the photobooth to get the same result. It would look like a Polaroid picture. It would probably be a posebox, but I've not been able to find anything like it.
Rather like freezing your sim in place and putting the "photo" frame on it, to snap a quick picture of that sim-without using the Uni camera that is an aspiration object.
Any ideas?

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Elder to Adult

If you go to the Insiminator download, and get it, that will enable you to use the cheats within the game and make the elder back into the adult. You just need one of the two offered: Object or the personal Insim. It's not hard to set up and easy to use. The reason I say this is because in the Insim, you have the "temporal" object which enables you to age up or down any sim, including to baby.
It's a better way to do the boolprop cheat than to mess about with the cheats in the game.

I've read where some people believe the players themselves are the testers for this game, and that's where EA is getting the information about what's needed in the patches. I believe it-if you read the Sims 3 forum, you will find thread after thread of nothing but b****ing about this problem with the game and that glitch, the crashes and the general bugginess. Nothing like customer loyalty-but EA is abusing it. Guess they must have laid off all their employed beta testers back in November. It's cheaper this way. (*Edited for language, as per site rules*)

I've been reading the reviews at Amazon-and they vary widely. They're from simmers of all types, and it's a a chancy thing to get it right now, depending on whether or not you have the machine to match the game and the specs on the machine to play it properly. Aside from that, this game has divided the community in such a way that I've never seen such a split ever, within the community itself. It has polarized entire segments.
I would suggest you read more reviews, look at the Sims 3 discussion board to see what problems others are having and just take it as it comes-the game will not disappear overnight, and if EA does improve on it, the game will be more playable in a year or so, given that the modders are working furiously to beef it up to playable standards that everyone who's ever played Sims 2 is used to.

In your active game folder, there is a "groups cache" listing under all the other folders with the file listing of "CACHE". This is what you delete. It will clear out all the accumulated debris caused by loading the game.

I have that problem-it's usually the house. In that case-if you can, go to the neighborhood screen and evict the family. Usually that will cure the problem, if you bulldoze the house.
Sometimes the house just doesn't agree with the game.

Oh, it does happen-but usually it's because the creator did not do the meshing of the objects very well, and somehow corrupted them. I've had it happen in my game, as well-but the creator redid the entire set and now it works-btw, that was Adele's Chinese furniture set, and it works like a charm now. I guess she had to re-mesh the entire set to work with the base game; it was crashing a few others' games, as well. If only all creators were as responsive to their "customers". It shows that the creator is very lazy if they don't even reply about an object crashing in the game, let alone fix it.

It depends on which mods you have and which EP's you have. If you have all of them, you have to get the matching mods/hacks for the last one you installed. Which means in this case, you take out all of them, and d/l the latest mod/hack for each of them, and then test the game. I will admit that this is not a fun thing to do, but it looks like the only way to truly correct the problem. BTW, also update your CEP files, if you have them, (pretty much everyone does) for the latest one.
Do you have any Community lot hacks, like "have parties" with inteen, or something? Perhaps that could be a problem in itself.
