91  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Mega College Pack help on: June 21, 2013, 11:49:53 pm
I can vouch that the Insimenator (DEST version) works without issues through the FreeTime (next-to-last) EP. I simply haven't played enough with Apartment Life (the last EP) to vouch for it with AL.

I use it mostly for convenience sake - for adding the Wardrobe Menu to each Sim so they can quickly change attire without going to a dresser, for makeovers and facelifts without having to use a mirror or cosmetic station, for changing Sims' names, for adding the Selectable Menu to each Sim for storytelling and picture taking ease, for buying new clothing without going downtown, and things like that.

Yes, there are other mods or cheats which do those same things but the Insimenator does what I need and has never caused my game any problems nor has it ever conflicted with anything else I've added.

Not to mention that I've grown accustomed to it having used it since it was first developed way back in the dark ages and don't want to change when it still works.

I think it should work on any annoying hobby friend brought with your Sim, even a ghost. From what Chris said once the hobby friend is assigned by the game, no further checking of whether the Sim is valid or not is done. That is probably a bug. And that would explain why you had the annoying ghost since it was the ghost of the hobby friend that had the "accident" which killed him. Chris's fix should take care of that should it happen again.

I'm glad you finally got it under control and that Chris was able to figure out what was going on.

And hey.... you even got a piece of CC in your game and it worked! It's just a small step now to put additional CC in if you want to try that. Smiley

I finally got the folder made and then I left clicked on it and slid it in the Double Deluxe folder did I do that right???..then I went into my game and the cc popped up enable cc with that folder I made in it so got that far

That sounds like you handled it perfectly!

Next time you are in the game, you should see if the napkin holder is there in Decorative - Sculptures within Buy Mode just to verify that it did install. Go ahead and buy it and place it on the lot somewhere.

From what Chris described, it works only on an individual Sim. So you should try having each Sim in your household click on it. If no option displays then they don't have the annoying hobby friend. If the option does display, then the Sim should click on the option and that should fix it for that Sim.

ok so does that annoying sim have to be there when they click on the holder??... Can it be used more than once and for the whole household or is it a one time thing and has to be bought every single time???

Since what Chris is correcting is within your Sim's data, I don't believe the friend has to be on the lot. Also, it should be able to be used whenever an annoying friend appears. I don't believe you need to buy it each time. But if you have two different Sims on the lot each with their own annoying friend, then each of your Sims would have to click it separately.

Let us know how you fare.

I'll try to answer based upon what Chris wrote in his post.

1 - after downloading his object (a package file), place the package file in your Sims2 Downloads folder. Your game should not be running when you do this.
2 - start your game and go to the lot where the friend constantly accompanies your Sim home from work is and purchase the new napkin holder clone which represents the object Chris made. It should be found in the Decorative / Sculptures section within Buy mode.
3 - place the object on the lot somewhere and have your Sim click on it. You should see the option "Remove my Annoying Friend". Choose that option. That should be all it takes. If your Sim clicks on the object again, that option should be gone meaning that it has performed its task.
4 - Your Sim should no longer have that friend come home with him the next day.

If you have any problems doing this, don't fret. Just ask. Someone will try to help.

Pierre over at the BackAlleySims adult site created shapes called Athletic Queen (adult) and Athletic Princess (teen) which are similar to the Athletic Girl. But they are on the adult site and they are not barbie.

My apologies. The ghost wasn't haunting? It came home from work with your Sim each day for days on end? That would be a problem.  shocked

You can stop ghosts from visiting simply by placing their urn/headstone in a Sim's inventory (or by deleting it). Ghosts only materialize if their urn or headstone is placed physically on the lot somewhere.

Good luck with your other issue.

When Sims come home with your working Sim, can you not simply click on them and select "Say Good-bye" to send them off to their own homes?

In all of my playing of Sims2, my adult Sims have NEVER brought anyone home from work with them who wasn't an adult or elder. My teen Sims have NEVER brought anyone back with them who wasn't a teen. If your adult sims are bringing back teen or child Sims from work, or your teen Sims are bringing back adult, elder or child Sims from their jobs, then I suspect that you DO have a mod or hack in your game which is doing that.

But regardless of how they got there, you still should be able to just click on the visiting Sim and either tell them "Good-Bye" or "Ask To Leave" if they don't live on the lot. That's a standard dialogue menu choice.

Did one well-known Sim die? They may be beneficiaries of his/her estate and be getting simoleans deposited to their accounts. Check their memories for a death.
101  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: Sims 3 baby genetics for Sims 2 on: March 10, 2013, 01:57:56 am
Sims 2 does pass skintones genetically. However there are no dominate or recessive. The skintone a child inherits is randomly chosen from those of the parents. Multiple children from the same parents may even have different skintones.

Each Sim in Sims2 carries two skintones in their character file. If the Sim was generated in CAS, then these are identical. Otherwise, depending on the Sim's parents' skintones, they may be different.

A simple example...We'll assume that the Sim's displayed skintone is always the first of the pair.
Parents A and B are CAS-generated. Parent A was created with a Light skintone. Parent B was created with a Tan skintone.
Parent A has Light/Light ; Parent B has Tan/Tan.

A child of A & B will randomly get one skintone from Parent A which will be Light (since A was Light/Light) and randomly get one skintone from Parent B which will be Tan (since B was Tan/Tan). The game will then randomly select which of those two will become the child's displayed skintone. So the child could be Light (Light/Tan) or it could be Tan (Tan/Light).

A more complicated example...Again, we'll assume that the Sim's displayed skintone is always the first of the pair.
A child of Light/Tan (Parent 1) and Dark/Alien (Parent 2) could be any of the four skintones (Light, Tan, Dark, or Alien). There are 8 possible combinations of skintones the child may have. Light/Dark, Light/Alien, Tan/Dark, Tan/Alien, Dark/Light, Dark/Tan, Alien/Light and Alien/Tan.

So in-game born Sims in Sims 2 do get their displayed skintone genetically just not very predictably.
102  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Two Gravestones For One Person on: February 03, 2013, 09:54:22 am
If you have qualms about deleting them, simply move the excess urns/gravestones into someone's backpack. They're not deleted, so you haven't changed anything. Plus they're not on the lot to where someone mourns at them or to where ghosts will arise from them.
103  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF this female Fitchic shape dress mesh? on: January 16, 2013, 09:20:59 am
Vanity did two different multishoe meshes for FitChick at BAS -- a FC alpha dress mesh without Al's slides on page 6 of her section and a nude FC mesh with Al's slides on page 8 of her section.

I didn't mention the first mesh because as Julie pointed out, it does not contain Al's slides. That's why I pointed you to Vanity's other mesh that does have the shoes you were looking for.

(Vanity's Dress Mesh contains Marvine's alpha dress mesh with 5 different shoes - Bsett's heels, Marvine's heels, Giansquid's dorsays and slingbacks and her platform sandals. Page 6.)

(Vanity's nude mesh has 6 different shoes - Marvine's heels (thick heel version), tennies, Bsett's heels, Al's pumps and slides, and her cowgirl boots with the skinny heel. Page 8.)

However it does appear that the exact dress mesh with Al's shoes that you were looking for is one that Julie did and is in her section at BAS. I didn't have that one by her in my game. Smiley
104  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF this female Fitchic shape dress mesh? on: January 15, 2013, 01:23:47 am
They are available over at BackAlleySims (adult site) by Vanity DeMise. She created a "Fit Chick multi shoe for TF and AF" with those slides on them. (Retired Creators/Vanity's Vault/Vanity's Closet/Female/Page Eight). It is a Fit Chick body mesh with 6 different shoe options.

If you can't find it, let me know and I'll PM you the link since it does go to the BAS adult site.

If/When you create a FC dress mesh with the slides, I'd definitely be interested in it. Smiley
105  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF this female Fitchic shape dress mesh? on: January 14, 2013, 07:31:08 pm
Al's slides, I think they were called, have the crossing straps and the four rivets (two per strap) on each side that attach the straps to the shoe base. I have a FC body mesh with Al's slides but no FC dress mesh with them.

Could that possibly be a teen mesh?
