Title: Body shop not working?!
Post by: tieko on April 26, 2010, 03:20:52 pm
I've been having some major problems with my body shop opening. It started when my computer crashed & i lost everything. Then when I was downloading all my sims 2 games back onto my new computer my regualr sims 2 game wouldnt download. So I got sims 2 double deluxe. The game works fine and all, but i just cannot get my body shop to open! Its been like this for a long time now & I have no idea what to do about it. So, if you could help that would be great. Thanks ^_^

Delete the four files named
* accessory.cache
* cigen.package
* contentregistry
* groups.cache

from the same TheSims2 folder you put your downloads in
*username*/Documents/EAgames/TheSims2
(do NOT delete anything from the Program files folder at the C: drive!)

This usually clears up most Bodyshop problems, and often helps if your game refuses to start, or crashes. These files regenerate every time you run the game or Bodyshop, and you'll not always find all four files (depends on what you did inside Bodyshop). They tend to go buggy, and are safe to delete. I always delete them before running the game or bodyshop, just in case.

If you have a buggy clothing/hair file, Bodyshop tends to crash instead of refusing to come up.

It could also be that you're using the wrong version of BS. Use the one belonging to the latest EP (or in some cases SP) you have.

Groups.cache is the other one, and it's cigen.package.

Sorry about that - I've got a bad memory. Doesn't even last for two minutes  :-\.
