1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / game crash on the exit CAS screen? on: February 08, 2009, 02:00:14 pm
Hi guys,
I have a dell inspiron laptop, with sims 2 deluxe (inc nightlife and celebration stuff pack etc).

My laptop meets all of the min system requirements as far as i know:
Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: Inspiron 1525
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A13
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5800 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory: 2038MB RAM

Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family

the problem i'm having is that when i go on CAS to make a family, it lets me create the people but when i exit to go back on to the neighborhood, it crashes in the family screen. The arrow stops rotating and becomes movable as if loaded.

I've downloaded the patches and it says the game is up to date (and therefore i presume work ok).

My friend has the exact same laptop and the game works fine on hers

Any ideas what else I can do?

Thanks in advance x

(For those who haven't seen the requirements yet):

The Sims 3 System Requirements:

THE SIMS 3 MINIMUM HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

FOR WINDOWS XP
* Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
* 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent

FOR WINDOWS VISTA
* Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
* 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent

What is the equivalent in terms of intel core 2 duo?

also, what about nVidia GeForce 9500GT?
4  Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Scared to install AL on: September 13, 2008, 03:04:51 pm
Hi guys, I know the posting rules say no tech help, but this is problem I have playing the game.

I have just bought AL, and I am sitting reading the system requirements. I haven’t installed it yet
I have checked my system requirements against the game and the only thing that does not meet the requirements is my processor (actually I'm unsure if it does or not).

The game requires a processor of 1.8GHz but 2.4GHz for vista
Low and behold I have windows Vista.

What I’m unsure about is that I have a Core 2 Duo processor (1.8Ghz)...so does this count as 2x1.8Ghz meaning that I actually have 3.6GHz?

I read in a Sims2Wiki article that I 'should not buy the EP if my system does not meet requirements' so what should I do. I have been anticipating getting the EP since it was released and now I am seriously worrying about not being able to install it. (I actually could cry right now! Sad)

Please don't delete my thread if I have come to the wrong place, I really need help.

Thank you in advance for answers x
5  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Walls, Floors & Murals / Reversed 'Zen Zip Zoom' & 'Swoop, There it is!' wallpapers! for H&M Stuff Pack on: September 02, 2008, 04:40:22 pm

7  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Walls, Floors & Murals / Reversed 'Zen Zip Zoom' & 'Swoop, There it is!' wallpapers! for H&M Stuff Pack on: August 26, 2008, 05:41:25 pm
Hi guys!

I recently bought the H&M Fashion Stuff pack and loved almost everything about it, especially the wall textures. But just one thing was bugging me about the 'Zen Zip Zoom' and 'Swoop, There it is!' designs. Yes they were great designs but they only went in one direction.

So after a good few hours work I've reversed the original designs so that you can now create a symmetrical continuous pattern with them. (See screenshots below).

There are 3 files available to download:
 • 1) reverse_ZenZipZoom.zip (contains a folder with 10 files: 5 .package files and 5 .jpg images, one for each colour)
 • 2) reverse_swoop1st.zip (contains a folder with 8 files: 4.package files and 4 .jpg images, one for each colour)
 • 3) reverse_swoop3rd.zip (contains a folder with 8 files: 4 .package files and 4 .jpg image, one for each colour)

1)

2)

3)

You don't necessarily need to download all 3 , but if you download only one of the reverse_swoop files you can't create the full symmetrical image. Therefore I recommend you download the other. It's up to you if you want the Zen Zip Zoom one as well.

As far as I know, the don't require the H&M stuff Pack to work, but the original wallpapers come with that stuff pack and you need those to create the full symmerical designs.

The wallpapers are as .package files so just unpack them into your downloads folder (they will work in sub-folders too). Once you have unpacked them, if you do not want the .jpg images then just delete them (not the .package files) deleting the .jpg's will not effect how the wallpapers work in game.

You are welcome to use these in custom lots you upload but PLEASE acknowledge and credit me. Please do not upload the files as your own

This is my first upload so I am sorry if I seem to have blabbed on (I just want to make sure I mention stuff you may need to know) if I have done anything wrong or left anything out, please let me know and I will amend the error. Also if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, I will answer (if I know :-P) A.S.A.P.

Enjoy!!! x

Credits and thanks to Maxis for creating the original designs in the first place
8  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Inteenimator help! :-( on: August 11, 2007, 06:17:17 am
I have downloaded inteen for EP pets and when the game loads up the custom content winodw comes up as usual nd i have custom content enabled....however, there is a yellow triangle, with a '!' in it,  next to package B....it says that this package file:
 • overrides global
 • overrides semi-global
 • overrides constants
I have no other files in my downloads folder, other than the inteen files.    What does this meen? And how can i solve it?...will it effect my game, is it an error or something?
THANKS!! Cheesy:D:D
