1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Buy mode "Sort By Function" tab disabled. on: April 16, 2008, 01:56:33 pm
Hey guys, I am having a fairly new problem with my Sims 2.  For some reason one of the tabs on Buy Mode does not work anymore.  It happened around the time I downloaded some MATY mods.   I don't know if they have anything to do with it or not, but nontheless I have no idea as to the source of the problem.  I have some debugger objects on my lot, but I do not think they have an option that can correct this issue.  I have an attachment attatched that shows what the problem looks like, in case you don't get what the problem is.  I would also like to know if anyone else has had this problem before.  I have all EPS up to Bon Voyage.  I do not have FT yet.

2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / System Restore Question on: April 05, 2007, 02:41:29 am
ancienthighway knows what he's talking about.  You need an antivirus or this will probably happen again.  Should you get an antivirus software, I recommend McAfee and I strongly advise avoiding Norton Antivirus at all costs.  It works, but for a very high percentage of the viruses I got with that program, it would continually say it could not delete or even quarantine the files, thus, the program was basically useless.  As for the system restore question, I would be baffled if the virus were to remain after system restore.  The only thing that would cause this to fail would be if the system wasn't restored to a date prior to the infection.

edit: I also forgot to warn you that it was indeed the virus that disabled your C and D drives.  I haven't had that happen to my C drive, but I've had a virus that totally disabled my D drive and stopped it from reading disks.  Seriously, it's worth the money to get security programs over having a computer with limited ability of reading and transporting storage data.  I put up with no D drive for more than a year...
3  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Top Maxis with nipples (Helpme please) on: April 05, 2007, 02:35:29 am

4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Small Q-Xpress 1.1.9 (and maybe lower) glitch to avoid on: March 30, 2007, 02:14:54 pm
If this isn't the correct place to post this, go ahead and tell me, and or move it.  There is a glitch, which I just found out about, of which if you begin downloading stuff while the installer is running, the application will encounter an exception after downloading all of the files originally set to install and then terminate, deleting records of the downloads just clicked and you'll have to click on them all over again.  This is just a word of caution and something that if not already, could annoy a typical download addict that has to install and download and the same time;  Also a potential need for fix.
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / servos on: March 30, 2007, 04:02:15 am
Answering a question above, you can use aging cheats to make servos take human form, and they can be zombies, vampires, etc.  I only don't like servos because they have a habit of wasting money serving endless meals, emptying the poor fridge, only to rot all the food and annoying me.  Also you can't control thier urge to stop doing chores.  Ultimately, I think Maxis made Servos too human.  They should be more robotic and shouldn't require fun and social needs(are there mods to make these static specially for servos?).
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Yikes! Autonomous murder! on: March 30, 2007, 03:27:42 am

8  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Eh? What is this Inteen? on: March 29, 2007, 10:43:29 pm
Basically what the title says.  I don't understand what it is.  I tried looking for stuff about it but I'm confused.  Anyone want to clear me up?  Thanks.
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / You have been playing the Sims 2 for too long... on: March 29, 2007, 07:32:27 pm
I made all of these up soley without looking at anyone elses, so I'm not deliberately duplicating anything from anyone else.

You know you're playing too much of the Sims 2 when...

1)     You find yourself washing your dishes in the bathroom sink.

2)     You set your microwave on fire on porpuse, expecting to be able to use it afterwards.

3)     You smash your TV after buying it and expect to get some money back.

4)     You try to put trash in your trashcan and wonder "Why won't it fit?"

5)     You fear your kids will be taken by the social worker if they go to school in a bad mood.

6)     When you marry your to-be spouse, you expect instant mind control over his/her actions.

7)     You put groceries in the fridge, only to be puzzled why they fell out.

Cool     You put a plant next to the fireplace and light the match...

9)     You think that your bill payments must always be divisible by two.

10)   You start to think that bills come every 3 days, when they only come once a month.

11)   You get happy memories of life insurance when your loved ones die.

12)   You wish you could meet Mystery Sim in real life, rather than that mystery someone.

13)   You are afraid you won't reach the top position of your job because you don't have very many friends.

14)   You get wierd stares when you say "OHMA!".

15)   You open a toy store with the feature item named "Sir-Bricks-A-Lot".

16)   You regularly go to modthesims2.com looking for a mod that lets you transfer yourself into the simworld.

17)   You begin hearing sim voices in your head all the time.

18)   You now hate your friend, and go to a green house trying to order a Cow Plant.

19)   You know where everything in your house is because your seem house looks identical.

20)   You're like me reading all this to be sure you don't have the symptoms of "toomuchsimsitis"! Cheesy
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / game card? on: March 29, 2007, 01:50:28 pm
Okay then.  First things first.  Do you know what OS system you have?  Like Win95,Win98,Win2000,ect.  This could tell a lot about whether you need a new Graphics card. (likely the same thing as game card).
11  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Is this perticular mod updated for Seasons? on: March 28, 2007, 05:01:01 pm
Is the Plumbingnobreak mod updated for the seasons?  I have this mod in my sims downloads folder and I have the Seasons.  The mod seems not to work anymore.  If it's not, is there a mod like this out there compatible for seasons?  I would really like one; It's really annoying how often plumbing objects break :angryfir:
12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Funny sim words on: March 28, 2007, 12:43:57 pm
I just think a lot of the sounds the sims make when they're mad are hilarious.  I can't tell you what they are because I don't know how they're spelled lol.  Does anyone else think they're funny, or is that unnatural? =P
13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What is the size of your 'Downloads' Folder ? on: March 28, 2007, 02:30:24 am
lol! I remember how I would look at the size of mine (474MB and 1174 files) and think I had one of the biggest sims 2 dl file out there... Cheesy I couldn't be more off, though I've recently been downloading constantly lol.
14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / increasing lot size on: March 27, 2007, 07:13:27 pm
I THINK this is the link to the lot expander.  That's what this page is about:

http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=175884

Use at your own risk, though.  I personally wouldn't use it, not to mention if you for any reason make a lot too big the game could throw a hazardous fit.  Caution I say.
15  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / game card? on: March 27, 2007, 07:08:06 pm
Are you talking about graphics cards?  You'll have to tell us some things about your computer if thats the case.  You can't get any old graphics cards for any old computer.  Get the wrong type and they won't work, just like with Memory (RAM).
