HOW TO ALWAYS NURSE BABY-NEVER BOTTLE FEED! I found a way to get your sims to always nurse and never feed a bottle. For those who use the autonomous version of this mod, you'll notice that sometimes your sim will breast feed, and at other times they will decide to feed a bottle. If you want them to always breast feed, then download the Smart Fridge, Version B, available in the link below. Put this fridge in your kitchen and don't change any of the settings on it. Then the sims will only be able to get food from it and not bottles so they will always breast feed when the baby is hungry! (You'll have to sell any other fridges already in your house or sims will get bottles from those). http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=177829(Download the last file only...SmartFridge20060728B.zip) ...You can also get the Permanent SmartMilk on that page, but the other fridges won't work right for this particular purpose...
If you want a fridge for the nursery that only gives bottles and baby mush, but not food, put another one of these same fridges in the nursery, turn off all the food options, and turn on the bottle options. (Don't use the nursery fridge available on that page for download. Sims don't use it correctly).
If you want to keep the nursing parent from feeding a bottle from the nursery fridge but want to have the ability to bottle feed while that parent is at work or sleeping, assign other household members as owners of the nursery fridge. That way the others can bottle feed but the nursing parent cannot. (If you don't assign an owner, everyone can get bottles from it just like from a normal fridge).
Squinge's breast feeding mod and this fridge go together so well that I just had to pass this info along. These are NOT my items. I didn't make them. Christianlov did.
EDIT: Any questions or problems with the fridges should be posted over there in that thread, not here in Squinge's thread.
EDIT2: I noticed some people complaining about the fact that when the sim is holding the baby and you give the nurse command that the sim first puts the baby into the crib, then gets it back out to feed it. (I've even had them hand the baby to another sim first...like that is going to help!)
I found a workaround to help with that. Have the sim place the baby on the floor, then click on the baby and give the nurse command. They will pick the baby up and start nursing without going to the other side of the house to put it into the crib first!

Resident Creators / Squinge's Mods / Electro Dance Sphere community skill fix
|
on: June 25, 2006, 05:53:24 am

Just so I have this straight...This mod will make the sphere give you body points (like Maxis says it should) but on community lots only. You have to have a community lot skilling mod installed for it to work, but it does NOT have to be the mod that is linked here (which is for OFB only).
So since I have a comm skilling mod this SHOULD work for me. Correct?
One more question...the Maxis patch states "Young Adult Male Sims can no longer get pregnant and give birth by using the Electro Dance Sphere." Does this mean that Adult (as opposed to YA) male Sims either should or have the chance to get pregnant on the sphere? Or is NO ONE supposed to get pregnant from this object? I have never had it happen, but then I have the mod where only females can be impregnated by aliens. (I don't know if aliens and this object are using the same code for impregnation). I haven't had any females get pregnant from the sphere either.

Resident Creators / Squinge's Mods / Use treadmill less

I have NEVER had anyone use the treadmill or exercise machines autonomously. Did they start doing this with EP3 or were they supposed to do this all along? I'd love for them to use the machines autonomously.

Resident Creators / EP2 Mods / EP2 required: no autonomous turning on stereo new alternate version(6/25/06)

¡Gracias! ¡Muchas gracias! Thank you! I really was looking for sothing like this. That stereo is so loud! And they turn it on all the time. I hated the loud stereo too. But you can adjust it in the sound options area of the game. You can turn the stereo down while keeping the talking loud or vice versa. I turned the stereo and TV down low and completely disabled the music during buy items and build mode. You can even choose WHICH Maxis music clips will play or not play in the different modes. Don't like a particular tune? Disable it while keeping the other tunes that you like. They even let you test each tune before you decide to keep it or not. Change your mind? One click lets you put it back. Do this while in the neighborhood screen. After you make your choices the game saves it so the next time you load the game the volumes of the different items will be the way you set them. You don't have to redo it every time the game loads.

Resident Creators / Squinge's Mods / Dance Solo Enabled for Toddlers

Now it would be really "awesome" *wink, wink* if these toddlers could gain dancing or fitness skills with this hack! I've always kept a stereo in the room next to the nursery so the toddlers can dance. They will do it autonomously, but you can't MAKE them do it without this hack. Mine have always gained dancing skill. I had one toddler that didn't want to do anything other than dance to the stereo. When she became a child she didn't have any skills at all from her toys. That irritated me until I clicked on her and chose personal stats (I think insim is required for this). But that is when I found she had a dancing skill of 9! More than enough for the fancy footwork college scholarship. So unless Squinge or a hack later than NL changed things the toddlers WILL gain dancing skill.
