91  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Linking Skins to werwolf Body? on: October 18, 2010, 10:11:56 am
Normally a skintone is linked to a top and a bottom but with the werewolve shapes there aren't any seperates.
So you either need to split the fullbody meshes into seperates(with Milkshape) or link the skin to the fullbodymeshes the way i did with them.

Its been a while but best is to clone the werewolve skin i released here:
http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,108325.0.html
and then link the bottom meshes to your fav fullbodymeshes.

However,
I dont know wat happens with the filenames when you clone the skintone with bodyshop as i changed the subset(bottom) to subset(body)
That you need to check first.(check if a cloned skin still works in your game.)

The reason i never had them(FT fixed it for me)
94  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Reassign a Skin tone's mesh? on: October 12, 2010, 10:32:46 am
Best is to use Simpe's PJSE tool for it.
Open the skintone.
click the property set.
Look up the files(aftop and afbottom in your case) you want to relink and write down it instance numbers.
Go to 3D ID referencing file and look up the first instance number you wrote down.
select it in the resource list and use PJSE tool(tools) to link a new mesh to it.
when done click commit and save

96  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: envi cube? on: October 12, 2010, 10:09:52 am
Just leave the alpha as it is on the envcube texture, making it black will give strange results Smiley
If you dont want the envcube overlay then black out the texture itself or disable it on existing outfits using Simpe.
I already did make those skirts in both with and without envcube tho Wink

So pets is the latest/last  EP you installed?
If i remember correct pets came with a few errors when it comes to material settings(related to the textures)
Search for the fix for Pets made by Marvine.

uhm, bodyshop doesn't generates 32 bit textures, only raw8bit for the normalmap.
Others are DXT1,3 and 5.

Yes, by moving your files arround in the downloadfolder, well more in the subfolders.
If im not mistaken all files get stored/linked(registred) in one of the cache files.
Those caches normally get updated when moving files arround but some files(and i think accesoires is one of them) get ignored.
So if you moving those meshes arround make sure you delete your caches!
Same story when you assigne the shoes to a sim and save the game, delete your caches when moving the files in diffrent folders.

I have no idea why some files get automaticly updsated and others not, maybe due some internal namechanges of the files.
But i have no intrest to examine them all....

i never had the blue accesoires, it normally doesn't accur, only when you move arround the meshes.
For the sandals, i can update the files with the correct names and links to see if that helps?
Wich ones are you using?
100  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Accessory Weirdness on: October 07, 2010, 03:26:56 pm
I had some problems with the rings at the time, seems to me you can have only have a maximum of 15 custom accesoires installed.(based on the glasses)
But prolly not the case here.
I cant believe they work ok when you take them out of the downloadfolder tho...there must be a mesh installed somewhere. Smiley
Might be a saved sim that was wearring them.
101  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Accessory Weirdness on: October 07, 2010, 12:29:49 pm
The problem lays within the group names in the mesh itself.
All of those blue flashing accessoires are based on the glasses who has 2 or 3 groups, the frame or rims and the lenses.
With custom acc the lens group often will be deleted but the recolor file still contains a link to it, that is the error.

There are 2 ways to fix this:
Make a placeholder for the deleted lenses in the mesh file:
http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=283059
Think you need Milkshape and Simpe for this.

Or delete the link to it in the recolorfile:
http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,79628.0.html
Done with Simpe
102  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Accessory Weirdness on: October 07, 2010, 12:42:15 am
hey

Been a while but if i remember correct the rings are assigned to swim/undies and sleepwear only.
So if you want to view them in bodyshop you first have to dress the sim into one of those.

The blue accesoires often means a missing mesh or the link to it.
To check if your missing the mesh undress the accesoire at the mirror then go back to the mirror and repick them,
If the mesh is installed this will usually fix it.

104  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Help / Re: Sudden crashing? on: September 25, 2010, 06:33:01 am
The quickest way(in my opinion) is to make a new windows user account, or(if there are already others) go to one and boot the game.
It will create a completly new sims 3 directory in your documents and settings the moment you boot up your game.(on that user account, it wont effect your existing one)

Check the mirrors
If the game crashes the problem lays in your pc, update/reinstall
videocard drivers
Direct x

If the game runs fine the problems lays in one of the files in your sims 3 directory on your original account.
Corrupt caches, delete them.
Corrupt ebc files(files that EA creates the moment you install CC)
The ebc files contain the links to CC that the game uses
Corrupt packages file in your DCBackup folder(it will not use the sims3packs located in your downloadfolder.)
You might need to use the EA installer to uninstall CC
