31  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Order Pictures on: April 01, 2008, 09:11:13 am
When you take pictures with the camera, they show up in your album under another sub-category (this is the only way you, the player, can see this pictures). When your sim orders prints of those pics on the computer, they should receive a photo album. *You* won't see those prints, but your sims will be able to look through the album and look at the pictures.
32  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Freetime suburbs on: April 01, 2008, 09:07:34 am
What I tend to do is make Riverblossom, then make another suburb, then delete Riverblossom. It's kinda annoying because it generates all those damn sims but I'm not sure if there is any other way around it >.<;;
33  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / What should i do?? on: March 31, 2008, 01:48:17 pm
Well you don't have to delete EVERYTHING. You just need to figure out what file is causing the problem. To do this you can start by verifying what you suspect to be true. Remove your downloads folder (Cut and paste it to your desk top or any other place outside The Sims 2 folder that you will remember) and re-load your game (you may need to delete the .cache files from The Sims 2 folder). Then see if your kids turn out normal.. if so, it is indeed a bad CC file.

After confirming your problem, you can slowly add bits of CC back into your game and re-test. You may want to remove them again once you have tested so you know which files are okay. When you add a batch of files that causes the problem again - you know it's one of those files. Test those files in smaller groups until you pinpoint the bad file(s).

This can be a long and laborious process if you have a lot of CC. To make it easier, test any mods or hacks first (these are the most common cause of a glitch) and if those are clean, test objects. If you don't know which files are which, you don't have a very organized Downloads folder~ you can use a program such as the clean installer or Delphy's download organizer to get organized first.

If all of this is just simply too much to do, you can go ahead and delete everything and re-download what you like. If you don't know what file caused the problem to begin with though, you could end up installing the same bad file Tongue

Do you have any mods or hacks installed? Or any custom objects that affect badges? (most objects wouldn't cause a global problem though...) That is an awfully long time to not get a bronze badge. Last night I had Elizabeth Aspir work on sewing nearly nonstop (I used maxmotives to keep her trucking along) and I believe it took nearly2 or 3 full sim days (48-72 sim hours) of non-stop potholder making before she got her badge. She had 0 creativity though haha. If it has taken you longer than that with creativity skill something is definitely not right...
35  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / trouble with sims!!!! on: March 31, 2008, 12:35:40 pm
Are you experiencing a jump bug that resets your sims actions? If so, it is likely that CC objects or mods/hacks are conflicting with FT. Check your logs folder in
My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Logs
Set your folder view to detailed and click the date header at the top to sort the log files by date. Do you see any object error logs generated on dates that you have played recently? If so you have some object/hack issue.
36  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims patch help!!!!! Please help! on: March 31, 2008, 12:24:48 pm
Okay, as far as patching goes, you are usually supposed to install every patch for every game you have. Sometimes, however, you may get that "already updated" message when installing a patch. This happens because one of the EPs or SPs you installed already patched a previous game for you. I.e., you probably got that "already updated" message for pets because Teen Style Stuff probably patched pets for you when you installed it (since TSS was released after the Pets patch was available). Does that make sense?

TSS may have patched your game up to date for you, so you may not need to download anymore patches, but it wouldn't hurt to download and try to update anyway (if it tells you your game is updated already, then just delete that patch.exe and don't worry about it)

Does that help?
37  Simmers' Paradise / FreeTime Help / Freetime Crash Issues on: March 31, 2008, 12:10:37 pm

Its werid cos mine crashed when mine was being judged at the food table. probally not related as to why though.

This happened for me too. When trying a food competition, did one of the sims present a CUSTOM food to be judged? I have found that most custom foods will cause a jump bug and set the judge into a non stop cycle of rejudging the contestants. I intend to remove my custom food and then re-test tonight when I get home from work.
38  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Minor annoyance, Redux on: March 31, 2008, 11:57:13 am
I have the same exact problem. When I click on the miss-matched thumbnail it will show the correct sim, but I'm not sure what is causing it. This problem only occurs for me in game (in bodyshop, my saved sims display proper thumbnails). I recently deleted all of my thumbnails attempting to fix a different issue, so I have yet to check if they re-generated properly - but it might be something worth trying!
39  Simmers' Paradise / Contests & Challenges / Cool Finds for Contests! on: March 27, 2008, 03:33:38 pm
This isn't a CC find, but I thought some of you might be interested. Today Adobe launced a free online version of photoshop.

You can check it out here.
40  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Body stretching on: February 11, 2008, 11:19:04 am
That looks like a problem with your graphics card. Make sure your drivers are up to date.

I'm guessing this is a new problem. Have you changed anything recently, whether downloading something, installing new hardware or software, etc.

Also, do you happen to have SLI enabled for your PC? (If you don't know what that is you probably don't have it unless someone in your family is a big computer techie or gamer) I'm just curious as I had a similar issue when enabling SLI for my new PC.
41  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Limits for downloading on: February 11, 2008, 11:11:27 am
Your only limit is what your computer can handle! I am an official download addict, and the quantity of downloads I have in my game would probably make a lesser computer cry  But no, the only thing that can really stop you is your free hard drive space~ lol
42  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Form a casual Group on: February 08, 2008, 05:04:15 pm
When they form a casual group, it means that all sims in the group will stick together, go places together, dine together, etc - it's a feature of Night Life so that multiple sims you want to get together will be more inclined to do things with the group than go off and do their own thing. It's considered a type of 'Outing'.
43  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Game freeze??? on: February 08, 2008, 05:01:40 pm
How long do you usually wait before you give up and crash it? I have had this happen on many occasions. Sometimes I have to wait several minutes, and then the family name for the lot will pop up. I'm not sure why it does that.. I thought it could be because I enable boolprop before going into lots (while in neighborhood mode) but that's purely speculation.

Can you elaborate please...? What kind of credits are you talking about? *confused*
45  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Game problem on: February 07, 2008, 09:53:15 am
If you have 2GB of RAM, it doesn't look like your computer is detecting it.

Quote from: krook;1126869
System version: Windows NT 5.1
System memory: 512 Megabytes total, 32 Megabytes free.

I did some searching on your error message, and what I found on some other game boards is that the Exception code: 0xC0000094 (-1073741676) INT_DIVIDE_BY_ZERO exception code is almost always a RAM issue. You should check that there is not a problem with your RAM or if your OS is capable of detecting it, because it looks to me like your computer isn't detecting your RAM.
